My Return Key no longer functions..

Hey, Last night I was just going about my daily routines of not-doing-anything-important, and when I finished, I opened up World of Warcraft, and my return key hasn't worked since. I've unplugged and replugged the keyboard, I've physically removed the KeyCap and cleaned it with a Q-Tip, and still to no avail.

I've also restarted, made a new user account, and restarted in Safe Mode, but still, my blasted return key refuses to function.

I don't know how much you use yours, but its so much a part of my typing, that I just can't stand not being able to use my return key..

Have you tried a different keyboard?

Yes, it sounds like your keyboard has shuffled off this mortal coil--it is an ex-keyboard. It's time to buy a new one.

A Ensaddening prognosis. However, upon further inspection, it is only that key, as every other key still functions-Yes, I have tested each one individually- is there any way to restore function to that particular key?

I have removed it and while it looks like nothing is wrong with it, it clearly is. For a sight-comparison, I also removed the shift key, and sadly, they look exactly the same.. Wouuld anything like swabbing it with some sort of Q-Tip with something would restore functionality?

I had that happen.. I restarted the Finder.. and all was well.. A restart of the computer did not solve it, but a finder restart did..

Its a hardware problem, under no circumstances will it work, even if reattached to a different computer. On the bright side, I bought a new Keyboard and an AM/FM Radio for my iPod on the side :)
