Hi,

I've setup frontrow to be able to render my movies (generated with HandBrake). Now I would like frontrow to display the movies' cover (rather than the movies itself) when I browse the list.

Can I configure frontrow to display images rather than movies preview ?

Thanks.

I have imported all my movies into iTunes which allows you via Get Info to change the Preview image to whatever you want.

FrontRow picks up on the movies in iTunes and uses the image you set for the preview.

I am using an external hard drive. With the amount of movies I have, it would be impossible to put them on there. I use aliases to make them at least show up. So my question is, without copying all the movies into iTunes (which would take days to convert all the files) is there a way to make images I've attached to these movies appear in Front Row

You don't have to physically import the files into iTunes. Make sure they are files that iTunes recognizes first of all.

If you are using handbrake then you should be getting MP4 files or M4V which iTunes will recognize.

Second go to Create a folder called iTunes Music on your external drive with a directory (folder) named Movies inside of it. Place all of your movie files in this folder. Open iTunes and go to "Preferences/Advanced".

Now you can change iTunes Music Folder Location to the iTunes Music folder on the external drive.

Once it rebuilds the iTunes Library you may need to drag the movie files into the iTunes window. This will not copy the files to your HD on the CPU, it will just build all the necessary links to the files. Then you can right click each movie in iTunes and change the preview image in the Artwork pane.

Hope this helps, sorry to be long winded
