hi there,
i saw a tv documentary about singers recording their horrible voices and then used a program to tune their voice to make it sound good. is there a mac app for this? can use garageband in any way? i wanna make a garageband band but my voice isnt too good. i wanna record and alter it to sound good. thanks. im a beginner with music so nothing too complicated please.

There are software plugins for this, yes.

The first commercial product that automatically fixed pitch problems with voices (and other mono-tonic instruments) was the Antares Autotune (http://www.antarestech.com/products/auto-tune5.shtml). It is available as a Mac Audio Unit plugin, which I believe should work perfectly with Garage Band. This is the original pitch correction program, and is very easy to use.
