list of currently used shell variables

Hello all,

is there a (possibly composite) command that outputs
all the currently used variable names in the system (i.e. the strings
x such that echo $x will not produce a blank output) ?

set will printout (almost?) every variable [for the shell it's run in].

[we're talkin' bash i assume?]
