View Full Version : Replacing Clutch Hinge in IBook G4

Hi - my ibook g4 hit the ground in an accident and to the best of my knowledge, I think the clutch hinge was bent, making the display case lopsided. I have not worried about it for a while as everything worked like new, but now the plastic is starting to crack and it's even more crooked.

Basically, I'd like some advice from people that have done this before and know how to access the hinge. I know how to get the display case off, but after that I'm lost. Any diagrams or how-to guides would be most appreciated.

Also, are these the right replacement parts?

Like I said, everything works fine, so I'm not worried about a new lcd.

I just dropped my iBook and have similar problem and any help would be appreciated.
