One of my cats has puked on one of my Apple USB KBs. Only about 3-4 keys affected but, obviously, the puke has hardened overnight.
Anyone got any miracle cleaning ideas, or do I just bin the KB?
TIA

A) That's disgusting.
B) Depends on how much money you have versus how much you are willing to clean up something like that.
C) See Calvarez's post about OJ in the laptop. It may give you some ideas.
Personally, I would just bin it. Alternatively you might try unplugging it, taking it outside, and spraying it out with a powerful jet of water. Let it dry for several days, and plug it into a PC first to make sure it's not going to short out the USB port.
I guess distilled water would be best to use, but where are you going to find that in BKK?

Personally I would go down to your local electronics store and buy a set of the "star head" tools you will need to disassamble the keyboard. Also some very small allen keys as well if you need them (depending on age of keyboard). Then proceed to disassemble. Be careful that no bits go missing. I recommend a mixture of luke warm water and washing up liquid for washing the puke covered bits, and you might as well clean anything else that looks grimy while you're at it. Try not to hose down any circuit boards if you can avoid it. As advised above. let everything dry completely before reassembly. Nothing alcohol or acetone based. And take pictures of EVERYTHING while you disassemble; nothing will piss you off more than if you get it back together and then find that typing a 'z' brings up an 'x' on the screen: believe me...... well with the possible execption of your cat being sick everywhere that is.

And, whatever you do, please don't post the pics here. :)

Actually seems like the latest keyboards dont require the star head tools any more. Just a set of allen keys will do I think....

Thank you gentlemen. My first instinct is to bin it but a spray of distilled water is worth a (brief) try.
"Distilled" water is available at any branded petrol station here. Just hoow distilled it really is remains to be seen.
Can the Apple Wireless KB work with two Macs simultaneously....? If yes, in the bin it goes. I think, however, the WKBs can only handle one BT connection at a time, yes?

Yes, according to this Versiontracker download page, you can do that.
