TextEdit fails to launch (helo, can i get help!?)

Hello, i am also a macintosh user. I have a problem at my TextEdit Application. I wonder how it was placed in the trash, then when I returned it to the desktop and tried to open it, it failed to launch. It displays an error message, and also the icon of TextEdit has changed. Any way to resolve my problem!?
