Missing ref to 638 RAM

Hi,
Recently I've noticed frequent kernel panics and that my 638MB of RAM is no longer shown. Only 256MB shows.
System tests show no problems with RAM.
Things to try on my own before giving it to a technician?

Multiple passes, run from Single User Mode.

However, I think it's pretty clear to both of us that this is a hardware problem (either bad RAM (hopefully) or a bad RAM slot (hopefuly not)).

Your stats actually show 384 MB of RAM installed; the 256 kb of L2 cache RAM may have caught your eye.

There's good news there, I think. It makes it much more likely that the RAM itself has, for odd reasons, failed than that the slot has failed, for it would not otherwise be likely to see that amount of RAM.
