I have tried this both on my mother's Motorola V551 (Cingular) and on my Motorola RAZR V3 (Cingular) and neither of them work. I have been able to pair both of them with my 15" PowerBook G4, sync contacts, send and recieve files, but I cannot use the SMS or call feature with Address Book.
When I click the Bluetooth button at the top of Address Book, and select on of the phones, it prompts me telling me to enter a passkey, that I supposudly must enter on my phone as well. I type a random phrase, and a prompt never comes up on the phone, but the phone and the computer accept a Bluetooth connection.
The Bluetooth button lights up, but only along the edges, unlike the picture in this guide which i tried to follow (http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wireless/2002/11/27/sms.html). After being lit up for between 5-10 seconds, the Bluetooth connection between the phone and the computer will end. In those 5 seconds I have righ clicked on a mobile number, but it does not say I can send SMS.
Does anyone know what is wrong?
Is this a problem with all motorola phones, just our model, or just cingular?
