I'm using smb:// and using the IP numbers are very boring and hard to remember.....can they also be renamed somewhere ????

you mean, that for every file "foo" there is a file "foo" and "._foo" at the target PC?

i think those ._foo files are the resource forks.

You are right.... I did a search here and found a story about the same.
But no idea how to delete them or filter them safely.......

And the IP renaming..... any idea how to rename a IP in smb:// ?????
