View Full Version : can't send email with MS entourage

Need assistance with this app. User can not send new emails but can reply
to emails. I have re-created the email account and deleted the prefs. Does
anyone have any other suggestions? Please help. Users is on OSX.

Are you sure this isn't the usual problem with trying to send email from a different network than the SMTP server?
It is quite common nowadays for ISPs to prevent use of any other SMTP server than their own (often called "port 25 blocking"). Check with your ISP to see if they do this.

You might try the following:
From the 'Tools' menu go to 'Accounts', double click your account, click on 'Click here for advanced sending options', check the box 'SMTP requires authentication', check the radio button 'Log on using' and enter your details. CLose the account window, quit and restart Entourage. This usually works if you are sending mail from an ISP that differs from your email account ISP.
