Mounting DMG files without OS-X?

I have a few things I would like to put onto my Mac OS 9 box (its an old Performa) in the form of a DMG file. I can't seem to mount these files with anything. If I use DiskCopy and drag the images onto the window, I get an -8819 error (unknown file type).

I have also tried ShrinkWrap (from Aladdin) but that doesn't work either. If I attempt to "Mount Image", it will Verify the image, and then stop and pop up an empty Log window.

Is OS-X the only thing that will read these file types? Apples site claims that DiskCopy 6.3.3 will read them, but that is what I have installed and it's not doing the trick. Suggestions? :(

there's a beta version of Disk Copy for OS9 that allows much more functionality. this was previously covered here:
