I am new to this forum and maybe this question has been answered. I am using a Mac G4 server and am currently running 9.2. Our IS dept uses Mac Admin and has most privileges blocked. When I boot the server from OSX it works great. When I go to the startup disk to reboot in 9, the 9 icon is grayed out and I have to get an IS staff to log in using their password. Is there a way to boot back and forth and bypass this admin issue?
We will soon be running OSX full time as soon as Distiller is compatible. THANKS

Make sure your startup disk is OS9
Rather than switching the startup disk in the pref panel to reboot into OSX, just press and hold the option key when you restart, this will give you a selection of OS9 or OSX. Plus the added bonus of this is that when you restart again, it will still boot into OS9 if you don't hold down option. Hope this helps! :D

Why do you need Distiller for OS X. The OS itself creates the pdf files. I had heard Adobe would not develop Distiller for OS X.
Am I missing something here? Let me know if you don't mind.

One reason is size. PDF files created through Quartz are huge. PDF files created through Adobe software are quite different in size.
I found PDF Compress (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=15836&db=mac), perhaps something worth looking into..
