I'm attempting to connect my G4 tower to my powerbook via Target Disk Mode. The target machine(G4 Tower), upon start-up while holding down the "t" key, cause the target (G4 Tower) to simply shut-down.

The host is a G4 667MHZ PowerBook.

What have I missed?

I also have a belkin wireless USB adapter IEEE 802.11b/11Mbps Model NO. F5D6050, It came with the used G4 tower, can someone offer instructions on uasge?

Given your description of the problem, I'd be highly suspicious of the FireWire cable you are using. There's no reason that connecting the two computers by FireWire and starting one up in FireWire Target Disk Mode should EVER have an effect like you are talking about on the other computer.

If you swap the cable for a new one and the problem continues, an easy workaround is to boot the G4 Tower into FWTDM not connected to anything, and when you get the bouncing FireWire logo on it's screen, then and only then connect the FireWire cable to the PowerBook.
