Several times a day while working in OS X (10.1.2) my screen will go completely blue and then the desktop/dock will rebuild itself, similar to quitting the finder from the ProcessViewer.

This seems to happen irregardless of the program I am running.

I have a fairly basic setup; DSL Connection, Mail, Mozilla, Word, Excel, Now Update&Contact.

Powerbook Pismo, 512 Ram

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Tony

Your finder quit. I get this sometimes with funky old CD-ROM disks.

Do you have a desktop picture? Mine comes right back when this happens but the menu goes away, then finder restarts and brings up the stuff I had open the last time I logged out.

Hmmm, about the only time I see the Finder crash is when accessing an NT 4 server over AppleTalk. It seems to restart quite benignly after that, but the server session is hosed until logout/login again.

My finder continues to quit, at least one to two times a day.

This rarely happened in any build so far of OSX, and even with 10.1.2 until recently.

I have not added anything recently to my system, so I am not sure what the cause is.

Perhaps something has gotten corrupted along the way.
