I've got a Belkin "USB PDA" adapter (basically a USB to Serial adapter). Belkin say it's not supported under OSX, and indeed there are no drivers for it. However, if I plug it in and then look in System Profiler, under USB it sees a device whose manufacturer is "Belkin USB PDA Adapter". So it would appear to be seeing the device, and can communicate with it enough to find out what it is. I'm assuming the next step would be to get a tty port assigned, but I have no idea how. Has anyone had any luck getting this working?

Thanks
Mark

Sometimes these products are designed and made by a third party company and sold to several vendors such as Belkin to be masqueraded as Belkin products. If that is the case, then other companies have the exact same product, just with a different case and possibly a different USB ID. So, one possible solution is to try the drivers for similar products from companies other than Belkin.

For example, Keyspan (http://www.keyspan.com/support/macosx/usa/).
