I've noticed that the GameCube uses a PowerPC processor as do current macs, does this mean that they potentially could run MacOS X? (would need some kind of hacked BIOS/modchip of course)

Different PowerPC chip, and OS X would have to be rewritten to interface with the hardware in the GameCube.. so, no, this won't happen.

What do you imagine being able to do with OSX on a Gamecube? :)

I've seen versions of Linux for some game systems, but you usually can't do much with them, and they're often limited even more by the system architecture, so OSX on a Cube would probably face similar problems.
