SCSI Scanners locate without reboot?

Is there any way to get a scanner to show up in OS X without rebooting with the scanner on, perhaps by killing and restarting the SCSI driver? Sure cuts in on my production time.

2@ 18GB U2SCSI (ATTO dual channel)
Adaptec 2906 SCSI card (for scanners)

Unfortunately, no.

The ability to force a SCSI bus rescan is one of the most oft-requested enhancements to the SCSI family.
