Check out the results of this search: http://www.google.com/search?q=remove%20public%2Fpickup%3A%20Permission%20denied%20postfix.

I searched before posting, with a few different search strings, and essentially came up with the same information found by your search +- a few links.

I followed http://www.n3wb.com/boolean/page/2/ and found some links to a macoshints thread which pointed to http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/archives/oct03/102803.html#S16423 which suggested running CreateSystemUsers from the install CD. Which I did, despite the differences in my circumstances. No dice. No new system users created.

Naturally I searched this forum before posting and found http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=39750 which has no reply. No dice.

When reading things like http://www.dan.co.jp/cases/macosx/tiger/postfix-tiger.html I wondered why I'd want to enable or disable postfix and why there was a problem when I don't remember taking any action to enable it to begin with. Thus, I didn't want to take any of the recommended actions without learning more.

Suggestions?

What about trying Postfix Enabler from http://www.cutedgesystems.com/software/PostfixEnabler/ to try to enable, then disable postfix?
