I know not relevant really.....but interesting anyway...

Now that is powerful.....

I noticed the 3.2Ghz Power PC chip spec as well...Hmmm...

And just think of the price difference between that and a 2.7Ghz DP PowerMac!

I never was a fan of consoles - could never get used to game pads... Nor am I a "serious" gamer, just like to play the occassional Half Life 2/Doom 3 quality games.... But heck, it would be nice if I didn't have to have a pc - or console - to get the best experience!

I don't believe it's the exact same chip as a G5, so the correlation doesn't work.

It was a specially developed chip by IBM based off the power pc technology. I just got done reading this huge E3 review of the xbox 360. The ATI video chipset was specially designed for it also. The xbox 360, is basically a PC so to speak. Similiar to the original xbox which was also basically a PC as well.

Personally, I like consoles, it gives me a chance to get away from computers when I want to play video games. Since I work in IT, somedays I come home from work and don't wana be anywhere near a computer. I am sure a lot of you understand that. Especially those days you have where everything you do ends up being a project :p

I do, as Kratos (http://us.playstation.com/Content/OGS/SCUS-97399/Site/main.asp) can attest to!

Jade empire, I am playing that also. But if you don't own Ninja Gaiden, it's by far the best game out on Xbox. Unless you are a crybaby... "T.T it's tooooo hard!!!"

Anyway, abut XB360. Does anyone know if it's reverse compatible? I think it's pretty absurd for it not to be, but I haven't gotten a difinitive answer yet.

I own ninja gaiden, but I am more of a kung fu nerd than I am with ninjas. Its just a matter of opinion. I can beat Ninja Gaiden on easy and medium, but hard is freaking impossible for my skill. Maybe someday I'll go back and try to beat it on the very hardest setting.

does anyone else find it ironic that M$ is moving to a PPC chip while Apple migrates towards Intel?

I pointed that out to my mother when she asked me about it.

Yes, since there will be a G5 that is over 3 Ghz when it comes out.

Once again, this is not the same as a G5 chip.

The 970fx that the current Macs are using is an overclocked 2.2GHz 970.

The xPox 360 is using custom made PPC chips from IBM. They are not the same chip as the G5. As an allegory, they might be 'cousins', but that's all.

Don't you think Apple would have leaped at the chance to finally bring 3+GHz to their Macs?
