Hey guys - what acronyms/abbreviations have you come across in your travels across the various web fora?
IMHO - In My Humble Opinion
IMNSHO - In My Not So Humble Opinion
AFAIK - As Far As I Know
IANAL - I Am Not A Lawyer (usually followed by "but....")
WTF? - What The Flip?
TIA - Thanks In Advance
And the classic
LOL - Laughing Out Loud
LMAO - Laughing My Arse Off
ROFL - Rolling On Floor Laughing
These can be combined eg
ROFLMFAO - Rolling On Floor Laughing My Flipping Arse Off
etc etc.
Anyone got some unusual ones? And does anyone know WTF FUD stands for???
Cheers

FUD - F'd up disinformation?

Sheesh, all the ones I can think of that you haven't listed already have the mother of all bad words in them:
STFU - shut the flip up
SMF - sick, silly, or stupid motherflipper
WTF - who the, where the, or what the flip

FUD - Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt.
This is the most common instantiation of FUD that I've seen.
acronymfinder is a good place to find definitions -- from what I can tell, it fully includes the Jargon File (at http://tuxedo.org/jargon/html/index.html)
Some examples from the Jargon file:
OTOH -- on the other hand
YHBT. YHL. HAND. -- You have been trolled. You have lost. Have a nice day.
YMMV -- your mileage may vary
HHOK -- ha ha, only kidding
HHOS -- ha ha, only serious
There are a lot more...

fink has a fine dict command for all your commando 'instantiations'...
$ dict RTFM

From Jargon File (4.3.0, 30 APR 2001) [jargon]:
RTFM /R-T-F-M/ imp. [Unix] Abbreviation for `Read The ****ing Manual'.
1. Used by {guru}s to brush off questions they consider trivial or
annoying. Compare {Don't do that then!}. 2. Used when reporting a
problem to indicate that you aren't just asking out of {randomness}.
"No, I can't figure out how to interface Unix to my toaster, and yes, I
have RTFM." Unlike sense 1, this use is considered polite. See also
{FM}, {RTFAQ}, {RTFB}, {RTFS}, {STFW}, {RTM}, all of which mutated from
RTFM, and compare {UTSL}.
From The Free On-line Dictionary of Computing (09 FEB 02) [foldoc]:
RTFM
<jargon> /R T F M/ Read The ****ing Manual (always
abbreviated, sometimes bowdlerised to "- Fine -") An
(unhelpful) {guru}'s traditional response when someone asks a
question in a {newsgroup} or {mailing list} which he could
have easily answered for himself had he bothered to RTFM.
The term may also be used to indicate that you couldn't find
the answer in the manual. E.g. "How do I interface Unix to my
toaster? And yes, I did RTFM but the {FM} didn't help and I
can't {RTFS}."
Derived forms include {RTFAQ}, {RTFB}, and {RTM}. Compare:
{UTSL}.

Something we don't have to worry about:
BSOD: Blue Screen of Death
And something my tech support friends use all the time when people complain that they can't print something:
"Oh, there must be a DFU error."
DFU: Dumb Flipping User

The freeware OmniDictionary (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=3242&db=mac) provides a gui and a service for dict.
It rocks.
