Hi,

I just posted the following quote in this post: (http://forums.macosxhints.com/showpost.php?p=184073&postcount=27)

[!QUOTE=Apple]Just drag two fingers over the trackpad to scroll vertically and horizontally or pan around any active window.[/!QUOTE]

What I wanted to do was post it like this:

[!QUOTE=Apple (http://www.apple.com/powerbook)]Just drag two fingers over the trackpad to scroll vertically and horizontally or pan around any active window.[/!QUOTE]

which quotes the URL directly. Unfortunately it appears like this:

Just drag two fingers over the trackpad to scroll vertically and horizontally or pan around any active window.

Was just wondering if this was a fault of BBCode, or if your just not supposed to quote a URL in this way..

(the ! in the first two sets of quote tags are because it screws the whole page up without them)

You just can't do that sort of thing.
In general, you can't have any tags (with square brackets) inside the square brackets of other tags.

Yep, what hayne said. You can nest tags, like the bold and italic to make bold italics but that's different.

In this case I normally would structure the quote a bit differently to work around the whole tag thing:

From the Apple Powerbook page (http://www.apple.com/powerbook):
Just drag two fingers over the trackpad to scroll vertically and horizontally or pan around any active window.

Which isn't as compact as what you were trying for, but gets the point across.
