Epson Copy Utility pinwheeling

Can anyone with an Epson scanner check this with 10.3.x?

Epson Copy Utility (part of the "Smart Panel") pinwheels when the printing status bar pops up, which is during the scanning phase of the copy.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

This has been a problem since 10.3.6 for me.

Normal scanning and printing works fine. I have an Epson Perfection 2400 and an Epson Stylus C80.

Have you tried letting the pinwheel (Spinning Beach Ball Of Death) continue and see if it disappears? It normally indicates that the application has temporarily hung, and will normally recover itself.

Epson support confirmed that this is a conflict with 10.3.8 and Epson Copy Utility.
