I am trying to set up a hotline server behind a cable modem router/firewall. I have read all the documentation about the correct ports being open and all, and I have set the proper port forwarding on the router, setting 5499, and 5000-5003 to forward to my virtual IP behind the router. The problem comes in launching the server. First off, I do not show up on the tracker. Second, maybe related, my server says that its IP is the one I have behind the router. However, this is a virtual IP (192.168.etc) and would result in an error if some one tried to client to it. So, I tried to set the server IP to be broadcast as the IP of the router, but it gives me the error that the IP is already taken. Long story short, has anyone set up a hotline server behind a firewall/router with virtual IP's? I would love some tips.
