Mozilla/Adobe temp files location

When I view (with Acro reader) a pdf file that I've fetched with Mozilla; the
file is left on my desktop. It soon gets messy.

(This is NOT when I choose to save the file locally; just when I view one from a web site...)


How do set the temp file location to stash them somewhere else?

I don't use Mozilla but usually you can set a location for "downloads" in the browser preferences.
