Anyone with suggestions for a free FTP-application for Mac OS X?

I've been using Cyperduck, and it's OK. But it has some problems when it comes to creating new folders and some other stuff.

Transmit has been great for me. I do not know what it's limitations are on the free version, but I bought my years ago for $25 and it has worked fantastic.

Schneb,

Thank you for that recommendation!

It works almost exactly like our old PC WSFTPro!

This was the last app. we needed to move completely from PCs to MAC.

Now we do all of our site development and delivery only in MAC realm.

Thanks again,

What about a freeware with both SSH and FTP?
And yet, not Cyberduck :-)

And if not freeware, then what?
Transmit does not support SSH, does it?

Schneb, Thank you for that recommendation!Doug, after getting reemed* for suggesting Trash be turned into a utility in another forum, it's good to get a post like yours now and then. So glad I can help!

*actually, it was not THAT bad-- it has turned into a lively OS/UI debate.

Well, I've been using RBrowser since before Mac OS X was called Mac OS X  . They have a free version (RBrowserLite) which you can get here (http://www.rbrowser.com/RBrowserLite/RBrowserLite.html).

If you're comfortable with the command-line, ncftp is a free alternative. But yeah, I generally agree that Transmit rules.

I love the fact that transmit has its own file editor... so damn handy :D

I hate that of all the FTP utilities Transmit is the one that won't easily let you move files around on a server (say to a directory across or above). Nobody on another thread (http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=31932) was able to find an easy way.

Make sure to tell the people at Panic about the need. They really do listen well.

My e-mail (well, the important part):

Second, a suggestion. Actually, a couple of suggestions, but all related to the same issue - moving files up a directory...

The response from Transmit (again, the important part):

I totally admit that the Move... option is a rather clumsy solution and it's something we are working on correcting for the next version. It's going to be a lot better!

One of the great things about Panic - every time I've written, no matter how inane the issue, I always get a personal response, and (well, time will tell with this one) they always have delivered.

Wow...they answered yours. I did send them a message about it months ago and got no response, which was part of my frustration, the other part of the frustration being I had already paid the fee before discovering this limitation that is not a limitation in other utilities. Good to hear they have become more responsive recently rather then less, and that they will fix the problem, so my money wasn't wasted after all. Thanks for passing that on.

I echo this.

I sent two emails in the last month. The second one of these two was answered in a day. The first one of these two was answered after 3 weeks and was accompanied with an apology; an email problem had caused some to be misordered and they were missed for awhile.

Always previously, I also got personal responses in a day or so.
