Okay does anyone know how to remove the "Apple Guide" extension from the OS 9 System Folder without it just being replaced by Classic when it starts up.
I mean the "Apple Guide" extension takes as long to load as all of the other extensions combined.
I tried to replace it with a Folder, a Document, and the Application Switcher (renamed Apple Guide) nothing worked. Thanks in advance

Move it somewhere else, make an alias, then move the alias into the Extensions Folder. Maybe? It's what I'd try next.

I'm not sure why you would want to remove a file that X is putting into Classic... This sounds like its going to cause some instability. On the other hand - in the name of experimentation try this:

Place an empty text file with the name Apple Guide in your extensions folder. Then lock the file. This should be especially effective if you do it while booted in 9. This should keep X from replacing it. If it does not - you can try setting the user immutable bit from the CLI.

By the way - X.1.2 and 9.2.2 are very very stable together. If you've got enough memory you can keep Classic sleeping for days and wake it as needed without any problems. I restart it so little the startup time is really irrelevant.
