If I copy text in an OS X program and paste into a Classic app, there is no problem, but if I copy text in a Classic app (this last time it was in an email message in the classic version of Eudora), and paste into an OS X app, the classic environment will die.

I have turned off some of my OS 9 extensions in order that Classic mode will boot faster, but is there some specific missing extension that is causing this behaviour?

The attempt to paste into the OS X program after copying from the Cassic program results in a spinning color wheel for about 30 seconds and then it comes back but no text was pasted.

The classic mode is still running, but then if I click back in the Classic app, that's when the classic environment dies.

I need to use the classic version of Eudora, due to a plugin that doesn't work in the carbon beta release, in case someone was going to point out that there is an OS X version of Eudora!

Apple just posted a KB article about this problem. Basically, the solution is to not have Classic start at system startup.

Good luck!

First of all, thanks for pointing me to the tech. article so quickly!

How did Apple not find this during routine tests before releasing OS 10.1.2? It seems like such a fundamental thing that you would do!

And where is the 10.1.2.1 "fix" that should have been issued by now!

Why do we have to wait for the next big update for a little fix like this?
