I installed all the useless language files with my 10.3. i want to remove them. any clues? (i imagine they are big files, no?)

Try Monolingual, or Delocalizer. Either can be downloaded from Versiontracker.com
Either work great, although Delocalizer does not have settings that can get you in trouble like Monolingual.(Hint: don't change the settings for keyboard layouts, just select the language files you want to delete, which can be all but English, for example, if that's your primary language.)

or just search for `*.lproj` folders and delete the languages you don't want. The asian ones take up the most space. So do he asian fonts (look in /Library/Fonts, not /System/Library/Fonts). You can (fairly) safely delete any font with a non-roman name but don't empty the trash for a few days. Deleting an essential unicode system font will make for an unhappy computer.
