How do I move my mail.app e-mail with all mailboxes, settings, rules, etc. to another machine? I need to switch my e-mail so I can travel with a powerbook instead of the desktop I normally use. When I try to put it on my ipod and create an alias from the powerbook's ~/Library/ for the Mail folder to the folder on my iPod it doesn't work. I can copy my Mail folder to the powerbook, but then I lose all my settings including accounts and rules. Where does mail.app store this info? I tried copying the apple.com.mail.plist file over but that didn't do anything.

If you right click on Mail and select "show package contents", there is quite a bit in there for rules and settings.

You need to copy (or symlink, not alias) 2 things:
the contents of ~/Library/Mail
the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
AND
the files you copy or link to must be owned/readable by the user on the machine they were copied to. If you want to jump between 2 machines, the users should have the same UID number - the same name isn't good enough. Or you have to do some more juggling with permissions.
AND
Use the same version of Mail.
