Flash AEC-6890 to AEC-6890M

The price difference here in Japan is 7000 yen for the PC model and 19,000 yen for the Mac model. That's about $110 difference and I am damned if I am going to pay that premium for owning a Mac. The cards look identical and use the same chipset. There is a PC flasher and the Mac bin file is available for download. Has anybody tried putting the PC card in a PC and flashing it using the PC flasher with the Mac bin file and then moving it to a Mac and seeing if it works?
Is it worth the risk of 7000 yen?
