Fuji digital camera

Hello all! This is probably a super stupid question but I guess I need to ask it.

I have a new Fuji FinePix 6800Z Digital Camera. According to the Apple site, it is fully compatible with iPhoto. Yet, when I hook it up (and I've restarted a couple times) my computer doesn't recognize it. The drivers that come with the camera are OS9 so I haven't bothered with them. I just assumed iPhoto would recognize the camera when it was hooked up.

I'm running a G4 450 512mb and OSX 10.1.4.

What could be the problem? Thanks!

Open up iPhoto manually with the camera connected - if the import button works from there, then you just need to toggle on the 'Automatically open iPhoto when camera is attached' option.
