Help! I don't know alot about prebinding - especially how to "turn it off" or make it so an application is not launching prebound. Here's the situation:
We're running Quark 6.1 on OS 10.3.4, and today we got a message saying that the Quark preferences were corrupt and needed to be trashed. So we trashed the Quark preferences in Library>Preferences>Quark. Wrong move - Quark told us it was missing critical files and had to be reinstalled. So we reinstalled, and now we get this...
Sep 3 13:12:42 localhost /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: /Applications/QuarkXPress 6.1/QuarkXPress/Contents/MacOS/QuarkXPress could not be launched prebound.
Sep 3 13:12:42 localhost /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: update_prebinding (finding dependent libraries for /{OS X Volume}Library/Frameworks/Xerces-c-cw8.framework/Xerces-c-cw8): can't open file: /{OS X Volume}Library/Frameworks/Xerces-c-cw8.framework/Xerces-c-cw8 (No such file or directory)
Sep 3 13:12:42 localhost /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: The file /{OS X Volume}Library/Frameworks/Xerces-c-cw8.framework/Xerces-c-cw8 does not exist
Sep 3 13:12:42 localhost /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: As a result, fix_prebinding will not attempt to prebind the application.
Sep 3 13:12:42 localhost /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: 2004-09-03 13:12:42 -0500: prebinding for QuarkXPress done.
Sep 3 13:12:43 localhost crashdump: Started writing crash report to: /Users/administrator/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/QuarkXPress.crash.log
Sep 3 13:12:44 localhost crashdump: Finished writing crash report to: /Users/administrator/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/QuarkXPress.crash.log
Sep 3 13:14:42 localhost /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: fix_prebinding quitting for now.
Just crashes at startup! Repairing permissions didn't help. How to I fix this?
