Well, after I had lost my iPod I thought the world had ended. :( But I was going to be a Windows user if I was going to let it happen to my girlfriend. I did some searching online and found this site: SuffBak (http://www.stuffbak.com/stuffBakAdmin/). It seemed cool but tought 2 bucks for a sticker and 15 bucks return fee was a little steep for something so simple. Plus I read somewhere that if any of your information changed, you'd have to call and talk to some one to update.
For those who haven't seen StuffBak, it's a site that lets you put a tag or sticker on your equipment and if it's lost someone goes to the website and types in a code that's on the sticker.
Well, the stickers they had were ugly and wouldn't look good on my iPod. So I searched and found this site: lostipods.com (http://lostipods.com)
I liked the stickers better and was more willing to pay 6 bucks, 5 for signup and 1 for the sticker. They didn't have a return fee and even let me specify rewards. They even have a money back guarantee (for 6 bucks.lol) So I tried it.
I was pretty skeptical about the whole thing. I was thinking about just getting a sticker and writing on it, but I couldn't find any that looked decent and none came in singles. They all came in packs.
Anyway, we got the sticker from lostipods, it looked decent... and it was surprisingly sticky :p I swear to god and heaven it wasn't 2 days later she left her iPod at a cafe. We went back together but it was gone. #$#$)@
But there is a happy ending. I went online and made my phone number "public" (as they call it) and put a $50 dollar reward (regretting that now :D ). Anyway, that night I got an email from lostipods saying someone had searched for my Ipod, i click the link they gave and it said the person was in cali (happens to be where i live) Man, that was an anxious time. I started thinking that whoever took it (prolly some kid, there is a middle school a few blocks down) was probably going to keep it, but at least I had some info on them.
I didn't sleep at all that night, I was going to call the cops the next day too. I was woken up by a phone call yesterday by some kid ( i knew it :D ) The first thing he asked was about a reward.
I ended up paying him even though I'm sure he would have just as well used it. But I'm thankful anyway.
I guess it just feels good to share some good news :p
