Faster finder, and scanner driver

I want the finder operations to be faster, and .... a driver for my epson scanner so I can erase os9 completely! ;)

Speaking of which,

Anyone been able to get Twain to work in Graphic Converter? I have a Umax scanner (it's an old one a 1600U) and now what I do to scan is go into the application under OS 9.

Since I hate (and hardly ever) run OS 9 anymore I was looking for an OS X way of doing it. Tried copying the Twain and VistaScan 3.5.4 TWAIN to the Plug-Ins folder (/Library/Application Support/GraphicConverter) but no go.

I get the same error trying to scan in Graphicconverter... it said I need a new version of twain, at twain.org. I went there and installed.... didnt help... get same error still.. :(

I have a weird feeling ill need to buy a new scanner.. I hope not.

Ya, exact same thing here. Unfortunately I can't afford a new scanner (or a new Wacom Tablet for that matter). So I'm kinda stuck, scanning does work under classic for me though, so I don't have to restart.

You might want to give VueScan a try (find it on versiontracker). It didn't work for me, but it might for you.

i tried vuescan.... it scanned, but was slow.... and it costs $, which I dont have right now.

even though It worked, quality looked bad... and I didnt see my exact scanner model listed in its list of supported scanners.
