How Can Apache Serve Web Pages From My iPod or A Partitioned Drive

I Try "Serve web pages via Apache from a USB key drive" Posted by rroberts. And I can not make it work, I have this message: "You don't have permission to access /~USERSITE/USBkeydrive/ on this server" . Now I would Like Instead To serve web pages from my iPod or from a particion I've made of my internal Hard drive. Is this really a possibility???
