Panasonic*NV DS50A Camcorder

Has anyone got the Panasonic*NV DS50A digital camcorder to connect to OSX/iMovie.

I can't get it to connect via Firewire - is there a generic type firewire driver app available

I had a similar problem with my panasonic camera - but by reinstalling iMovie with the help of Pacifist, fixed the problem.
