A friend is selling an old G3 Blue and White... I would like to use this as my mp3 music server for my house...
Can you tell him how large of a hard drive I can put into one of these babies?
Thanks!

A 120 GB drive will work fine in a Blue & White G3.
Note, there are two different revisions of the B&W. If possible, get a Revision 2, which has a superior IDE subsystem. There are problems when connecting two drives to a Revision 1 B&W, whereas a Revision 2 can handle 2 120 GB drives with no problem.

I've got a 120 gig Seagate ATA100 7200rpm drive in my B&W G3. It's runs great and I have no complaints.
You can't exceed 127 gigs (per drive) using the standard IDE controller. If you want to go up to 160 or 250 gig drives you have to add a PCI ATA133 controller.
