Aaaargh,
it's just taken me 47 minutes to copy 58.9Mb onto a zip disk, running 10.1.3. Zip disks have never worked as fast under X as they did under 9 for me, and I've finally got fed up of it.
Anyone any idea what's going on or how I could speed up my Zip drive?
Thanks!

I doubt this is it, but Zip100 disks in Zip250 drives are abismally slow. That's the only problem I've experienced, though.
What kind of zip drive on what kind of mac?
There is a version of Iomegaware available for MacOS X, but I don't think it should make a difference.

hi,
its a G4 466 with a 250Mb zip, I'm not sure what interface they use, but you're right it's a 100mb zip disc in a 250 drive. I've got a 250 disc somewhere I'll give it a try tonight when I get home.
Annoying thing is though, none of the computers I'm taking files to have a 250 drive, they all have 100's.

Agreed. It's totally irritating that the 250s can't write to 100 disks with the same speed, considering they will probably never be as widespread.
There's not really any way around it... other than getting a usb 250 zip drive to carry around I guess.
