using Xwindows, half the time, I seem to loose my mouse. the pointer will just dissapear. It will still work, I just cant' see it. if I click out of xwindows, back into x, and then back into xwindows, it will work until I choose something again.. then it starts over.. Is there a command that might need a little editing to fix this?

I have the microsoft trackball explorer. and it works 100% of the time in OSX, Although, it doesn't work like it should (when is microsoft goign to get off of their butts and create a driver for it... I want all of my buttons to work!)

I haven't experienced that problem with XFree, using a Kensington mouse, so I can't help you there.

But, you will be happy to know MS was showing a beta driver for their mice at MacWorld, so I don't think you'll be waiting too much longer.

What version of XFree86 and XDarwin are you using?

I'm going to move this one to UNIX - General, as a discussion that might involve X Windows is probably not applicable to newcomers :-).

I believe the problem can be solved by deleting /Applications/XDarwin.app and reinstalling the latest version of XDarwin as probably they were some leftover files from a previous install.

I used to have a problem with the mouse pointer dissappearing in the Gimp drawing window.

Either XonX fixed this or Fink did.

I've searched both sites and can't find the mention of it.

So be sure you've got the latest versions.
