View Full Version : Workgroup Managed Network does not like sleep

09-23-2003, 01:09 PM
We are running Workgroup Manager on our Wired and Wireless network and have identified an issue with our iBooks going to sleep and dropping the connection. The client computer can still see the internet and ping stuff, just the connection to the file server where the user data is kept is no longer active and we get the spinning color ball.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be going on?? Does the client computer pickup an identifier or token when it logs in that might change once the computer is awoken?? Should the client be able to reestablish the connection to the file server with out much intervention???

Is there a doc or illustration of the complete wireless boot process and the workgroup login process that spells out what happens???

Pretty tall order, huh???

Thanks all!!

added bonus...

If a wireless laptop logged in to workgroup manager leaves a wireless area and then comes back in, it also can not see the home folder/user's docs.....

just hoping to learn why....
