text input widget for iBooks Author

Hi!! First time poster here........

I'm trying to create a widget for iBooks Author whereby readers could enter in their own text.

I understand that Dashcode can do something like this? If so, how might that be done? Is there a different and/or better way?

It would be extra-great the text could be either written or typed! (I'm not sure if this is standard functionality across all iPad apps?)
