Does the iMac have 4 High Speed USB ports, or 4- 2.0 USB ports.
Is there any difference between the 2.0 High Speed, and 2.0 USB ports?
I am a little confused about USB port specs, and my internet research did not help me clear it up.
The terms are often used interchangeably and it's probably a relic from when USB 2.0 was introduced and people wanted to distinguish between USB 2 and USB 1. If you look at the iMac technical specifications page (http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html), Apple says the iMac has four USB 2.0 ports.

Here's most everything you want to now:
The first version in use, USB 1.1 was called low speed or full speed, depending on the USB bus speed, either 1.5 Mbits/s, or 12 Mbits/s
USB 2.0 has a Hi-Speed bus, which is rated at 40 times faster than full speed.
USB 3 has a Super-Speed bus, more than 10 times faster than Hi-Speed. (now max up to 5 Gbits/s
.. USB 5.0 will be known as 'enormous-ultra-overdrive-humongous-Speed' but that's just my guess. It will generally be faster when the wind is at your back.
Anyway, to answer your question - USB 2.0 ports are also known as Hi-Speed, which is actually the name used for the USB bus. In practical use, the terms seem to be interchangeable.
