CD burn problem

I am using a G4 with Os9.2.2 an an external hard disk and X10.2.5 on the internal disk.
I tried to burn a CD using the built in software on the OS9.2.2.
I think I did everything as directed by the HELP, but
when I click on "burn CD" the progress window appears
and nothing happens.
