View Full Version : 30GB Disk Copy image brings down OS X system

Prior to a total hard disk failure I imaged a mission critical data partition that is 30 GB in size.

After replacing the failed disk I tried to mount the image back on a beige G3 (upgraded to Encore G4 500 MHz/512 MB/ATI Radeon 7K) but after the checksum test (20 minutes later) when it tries to mount it on the desktop it brings my whole system down with that multi-lingual message on how to turn the system off.

I'm running OS X 10.2 Server (I haven't run the updates on OS X yet due to DSL being down) and besides finding a way to effectively crash my OS X system, I'm left wondering if I have also found a size limit to practical uses of Disk Copy?

Does anyone know if the 8GB bootable partition limit on the beige G3s is the culprit??
Any work around to this, or I need to forget the G3 and find me a newer system to decompress this image to?? [/FONT]
