Hello

I plan to use an USB connected Uniterruptable Power Supply for my Mac mini which runs 7x24 as a server. I do have an Powercom brand, Imperial Series UPS which has a USB connection but it's virtually non usable with any software including the Network UPS Tools (because of an incompatibility in driver; the NUT driver perceives it as a different brand and model UPS and I couldn't get past that error)

So, I'd like to have a UPS which won't cause such problems and which can be used with any free UPS software such as NUT.

Can you suggest a brand and model for this purpose? Actually I hear APC is a good choice but which models work perfectly with Macs, I don't know.

Capacity is not important; as I will configure the UPS to shut down the Mac mini as the UPS reaches low battery.

Thanks.

I am fond of the Tripp Light Units that are available at Costco for $99 there equivalent to much more expensive units. This link is for a cheaper one that supposedly works with mac and windows over USB. http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtModelID=3063. They also offer network shut down. This is there network software for said purpose its 10.6 or better.

Good Luck.
