mail notification applescript?

I want the mail application to show a pop up or make the icon bounce when an email has arrived? Does anybody now how to create/or have an applescript or something in that nature that will notify me when an email has arrived?

P.S. I have tried the rules in the application, but there is nothing that would do such thing.

You might download iNotify, a $5 shareware package. It allows you to create many useful notifications and buttons, including ones like the transparent Eject CD display that show you the CD is ejecting the disk.

This is actually *not* a plug for iNotify. The reason I mention it is that one of the example Applescripts included with iNotify is one to do exactly what you are describing. Even if you don't use iNotify, you might be able to adapt the script to do what you want.
