I've been using X11 for a few months now, and it's very cool...however, I've been having trouble accessing some features, and I've got a few questions...

How do I access X11 apps over the network?

Do the apps run on my local system, or on the remote system (i.e., if I fire up xmms on my local system, will it use the server's MP3s)?

How do I change the default terminal for X11?

I know these are obvious questions, and I wish I could find good answers on my own...can anyone point me towards a clear, comprehensive X11 FAQ/Guide?

Thanks,

Here are some answers for you....

1) http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9739&highlight=X11+forward

Read through that and other similar postings in this forum

2)The program is running on the server. You'll be able to browse the server's directories

3)I'm assuming you are asking how to make your favorite term run at startup instead of xterm? If that's the case, change your .xinitrc file. Do a simple search in the forums and you'll see how.

I'm sure you've seen this but I'll post it anyway...
