View Full Version : Ipad images do not appear as thumbnails in Aperture 2 import pane

I'm using an Ipad 1 to temporarily store Sony A-350 raw pics on trips. I subsequently upload to my apple desktop (SX 10.5.8) via Aperture 2. The ipad handles the Sony raw images, displays them properly, but, upon synching with the desktop via Aperture 2, I find that the images are present in the Import pane of Ap 2 but will not display/resolve as thumbnails. This is not the case if I set the camera to take jpegs (l,m,s) - those images transfer as I would expect to the Aperture Import Pane and display as thumbnails/previews.

An I missing something obvious? I see no means to address Aperture Import directly. All the picture metadata is there in the Import Pane when you request a list display, the image names etc and, when imported into the Aperture library, the pics do then preview as thumbnails. My problem is just at the import stage (when I would like to separate images for import into different Aperture libraries/folders, etc.) Under Image Import Information, Ap 2 describes the dimensions of the photos as XX by 0 - not a healthy sign.

Sorry for wordy account but all suggestions welcomed. Thanks for your patience...

Which version are you using of Aperture, is it the latest one? If not then try updating the latest version.

It's Aperture 2.1.4 that I'm using. I believe that is up to date.

I'd consider upgrading to Aper 3 but would like to know for sure that would reconcile the problem first.

Thanks,

I am not sure updating will solve the problem, perhaps it can help or it may not.
