At my age it's sorta hard to figure out scripting. I had a need. Would it be possible ... and not to difficult to have a script do the following?....

I have made a text edit document... Take Meds in big letters... residing on the desktop.
It would be cool to have Applescript open it in the center of my monitor automatically at 9 am and 9 pm. Then just possibly click esc... or something similar to easily close it.

Hey... don't laugh... you'll be there some day too. I don't know that this can be done... or done with little effort. Hoping. Thanks for any help I can get. It seems like a cool idea and you know how time passes when you're messing around in photoshop or about anywhere else on the computer.

Details:
17 in MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.8. All software current to Leopard.

Many thanks.

No need for an AppleScript. Just set up an event in iCal and set the "alarm" to "open file", specifying that file. Done.

Not sure if you are using a mobile phone or not. You can even have ical send the alert message to a phone. Most phone numbers these days can be sent via email. For example, my phone number's email is 17811234@tmomail.net. However, the computer needs to be opened and on for this to work.

For Med and such, it good to set up reminders in more than one applications or system. In this case redundancy is the key to keeping up with Meds.

hayne ... Thanks, I need to schedule 2 events then ... one to run all the time at 9 am .. The second at 9 pm? Guess I can not do it with one event?

Roncross ... Thanks also. Do not have a mobile phone yet. Will get an iPhone 4 when the dust clears. Your reply will be super then. So handy when remote from computer. Hadn't thought of that possibility. Great!

Recurrence.. can't you tell it to repeat every 12 hours?
